Learn how to make some of Brazil's most loved dishes, Pao de Queijo and Brigadeiro, with a chef, live from Brazil
Pack your bathing suit, we're heading to Rio de Janeiro! This all star class will bring you to the lively city of this stunning country.
You'll start with Pão de Queijo, the famous Brazilian cheese bread found at nearly every local gathering. This bread's recent rise in popularity can be attributed to two things. First the concept of rodízio-style restaurants. Second, and arguably more impactful, Pão de Queijo is naturally gluten free. This bread is made with the starch of a popular Brazilian tubur is what gives the bread slight crunch, but more chewy and soft and even a bit of pulling texture. It's delightful.
Once that's baking, you'll move on to your Arroz de Carreteiro, which literally translates to Carter's Rice. This variation of a one-pot rice dish is amongst the favorites and will be a recipe you go to time and time again. But what's dinner without a sweet ending? And this class will have you rolling and popping chocolate desserts with ease. Brigadeiro, pronouced [bɾiɡaˈdejɾu]) are surprisingly simple Brazilian treats that have roots in both a political candidate and the introduction of a major food product. Ask your chef which what he thinks!
