Learn how to make some of Italy's most iconic desserts, Tiramisu and Zeppole, in a private virtual cooking class with a chef, live from Italy

La Dolci Vita with this sweet class!  Italian desserts are nearly impossible to avoid while in Italy and for good reason - they're delicious! In this fun cooking class, you'll learn how to make two of Italy's most iconic desserts.  First, master choux pastry. This simple pastry is the base of many dishes from French Profiteroles to savory Gougéres. In this class, you will learn the basics of this pastry and turn it into the beloved Zeppole San Giuseppe. These Italian cream filled pastries are synonymous with the Feast of St. Joseph. Every March 19, Italians celebrate this holiday (also known as Italian Father's Day) with these beautiful treats. Found throughout the country, Zeppole San Giuseppe are given to fathers to show their love.  


But not to be missed is Tiramisu. Relatively new in the Italian dessert scene, Tiramisu is believed to have been invented in the 1960's but exactly where and when is unclear. What we do know is this no-bake sweet treat has become one of the most popular at Italian restaurants throughout the world. Literally translating to "pick me up," that's exactly what happens, and during your cooking class you'll learn a bit more about the racy origins. Espresso-soaked ladyfingers elegantly layered in fluffy cream - this is truly the sweet life! 


In this Italian dessert class, your chef, video calling you live from Italy, will teach you how to make two traditional desserts perfect as the finishing touch to any wonderful meal.  You'll learn technique that will open a new world of dessert making at home. From Choux pastry to custard-making... you'll have a feast for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Chef at restaurants throughout the world. Graduate of ALMA University.

Born and raised in Brindisi, Puglia Chef Massimo Mancarella discovered his passion for food while watching his grandmother Anna prepare the classic Sunday family lunch. After learning the basic techniques of Italian cuisine at the hospitality institute in his city, Massimo had the opportunity to travel the world. He’s perfected his craft with over 10 years working as a Chef in Egypt, the Netherlands and Spain which have contributed to his love of culture, people and his culinary knowledge.


Chef Massimo’s desire to deeply explore the history and culture of Italian cuisine led him to the prestigious ALMA University. ALMA University, located in the prized culinary region of Parma, Italy houses Italy's most elite culinary professions. It was there where he developed the deepest knowledge, learned the stories and the soul of Italian cuisine. After working in several Michelin Star restaurants, Massimo returned to his homeland, Puglia where he currently works as a private Chef for events and in luxury villas.


“Fill the head before the stomach” is his culinary philosophy: A dish, an ingredient and a recipe almost always have a story to tell. It’s the anecdote and legend that we together will carry together.

*The base price of most classes is $369 which allows 2 participants in the same kitchen. Each additional person in your kitchen thereafter is an additional $50 USD.
