When you purchase a gift card and schedule it to send on a specific date, the delivery time is the time of purchase in UTC (i.e. a card purchased at 12pm EST is delivered at 12pm UTC), which is 8am ET.

When I schedule a gift card, what time will my gift card send?

Our private 1:1 cooking classes make for wonderful gifts. We've been rated Best Gifts by the likes of Forbes, Oprah Magazine, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and tens more.  

We offer a variety of experiences. The majority of our classes start at $369 USD and include two people in the same kitchen.  We also offer classes at $399 USD that include classes like pasta-making, lobster and steak classes. In addition, we also offer a class called "What's In Your Fridge" that is $199 USD that includes two people.  And last, we also have Class Passes that include a number currated classes at a discounted price.  You can read more about our Class Passes here along with the pricing for each pass currently available.

You can include more or less in your gift! If your loved one has money left on their gift card, they can use it towards a later purchase. 

What amount gift card covers an experience?

Thanks for looking into this. Any experience with The Chef & The Dish can be cancelled and refunded within 24 hours of purchase.  If you cancel your class 15 or more days before the class start time, you will receive 100% credit towards your account.

Please know, any cancellation within a 14 days of a class start time cannot be refunded.  We like to let our guests understand why. As all of our classes are private to just you and your guests, our chefs reserve their time for your party. That means, they turn away all other requests for that day and time. When a party cancels, it means they lose wages for that day and within a short window, it's likely those wages will not be recovered. 

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Your Kitchen Assistant will provide your Shopping & Equipment List prior to your 20 minute Kitchen Prep Session. During your Kitchen Prep Session, you'll review everything together and we'll answer any questions you might have.

Our chefs provide suggestions on the best ingredients to purchase to ensure a truly authentic taste, along with chef approved substitutes. We even recommend local markets and grocers to find ingredients for your class.

Each chef also ensures their class can be held using standard kitchen equipment. If any specific items are needed for the menu, they are noted in the Class Details section. You'll receive information on the exact equipment you need prior to your class in your Kitchen Prep Session. If anything needs to be purchased, you can choose to do so, or the chef will tailor the recipe to the items you have on hand.

How do Groceries and Equipment work?

Classes are available at times throughout the day on every continent of the world - all at time that's convenient for you, no matter where you live. To see the times available, check the Class Details page to see times available in your local time zone. If you have special requests outside of the times offer, just let us know. Many of our chefs can offer more times, as well.

How does it work with timezones?

All of The Chef & The Dish classes are held in English. Our chefs are fluent in English, as well as their native language. During your class, have if you speak the chef's language, they would be happy to conduct the class in their native language. Just let us know in advance. Want to pick up a few new phrases? Ask your chef how to say things in their local language and learn new phrases for your travels.
