Spend the afternoon eating beignets and pie in this virtual New Orleans cooking class

Anyone who's visited the French Quarter of New Orleans knows the feeling of leaving a famous cafe covered in powdered sugar. Ah... warm, sweet and pillowy Beignets... Beignets are so synonymous with New Orleans in fact, that in 1986, the beignet was named the official state doughnut of Louisiana. Best served hot, these scrumptious square fritters are covered in sweet powdered sugar, sometimes stuffed, and will melt in your mouth.

But while you're likely here for the Beignets, we'd like to introduce you to Chess Pie. This creamy pie, reminiscent of pecan pie, is highly likely to become your go-to recipe. So much so, that the team at The Chef & The Dish has rated it our "top pie to make in a pinch". With a fun history, dare we say - Chess Pie could become the class highlight.
