MOROCCO
At the narrowest point, this North African country is only 9 miles from Spain. It borders the Atlantic ocean, shares a large coast of the Mediterranean Sea, and has deserts and mountains that rival any country. The largest city is also its largest port, Casablanca, famed for the movie (none of which was actually filmed in the country). From colorful pottery, lively markets, chaotic streets, peaceful desserts, songful Mosques, and maze-like streets, Morocco will forever capture the spirit of the lustful traveller. But it's food... It's food! Berber, Arabic, Turkish, Middle Eastern, and French influences culminate to create a unique blend of spices and a shared eating experience you'll long for. From surfers to historians to explorers, Morocco is a destination that should be on everyone's list.
