If you were invited to a Turkish family home for dinner, it would almost be guaranteed eggplant would be on the menu. Eggplant plays a very important role in Turkish cuisine and the amount of eggplant dishes in Turkey is in the hundreds!  And with over 100 different dishes on record with eggplant, if you're looking for new ways to use this purple beauty, there's really no one better to learn from than a Turkish chef.  


Most commonly known as Aubergine around the globe, eggplant can feel like a bit of a mystery.  Let this class demystify it for you. In this private virtual cooking class, which happens to be vegetarian, you'll learn how to use eggplant in totally different ways by making three different mezes. Mezes, similar in concept to Tapas, are small dishes served as appetizers in countries that were formally part of the Ottoman Empire. In this class, your mezes will include a stuffed "Split Belly" Eggplant, roasted Eggplant Puree, and Fried Eggplant with traditional Turkish Tomato Sauce. Add some pita, and you'll have a Turkish eggplant feast.
