The Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork (4 Ways!)


Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is a recipe to master. Whether you're doing summer entertaining for a large group, or getting cozy inside with the family in the fall - Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is a staple for all seasons.

This recipe uses organic duBreton pork and the four BBQ sauces span classics invented in the south, including Classic BBQ Sauce, South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce, Western North Carolina Sauce, and Alabama White Sauce.

The Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Classic BBQ Sauce

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

For the Slow Cooker Pork:

2 duBreton pork shoulder pieces

1 teaspoon kosher salt flakes (less if using table salt)

1 large yellow onion, peeled and sliced

1 teaspoon freshly ground black or white pepper

1 cup chicken broth

Rub pork pieces with salt and pepper. Lay onion slices at the bottom of a large slow cooker then pour chicken broth in and lay pork in.

For the Classic BBQ Sauce:

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

2-3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon molasses

1 teaspoon liquid smoke

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper or red pepper flakes

Whisk everything together in a small saucepan and set over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Top Pulled Pork with Classic BBQ Sauce and Enjoy!

The Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

For the Slow Cooker Pork:

For the South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce:

1 cup yellow mustard

½ cup cider vinegar

½ small yellow onion, minced

¼ cup packed light brown sugar

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Salt to taste

Whisk everything together in a small saucepan and set over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Pile pulled pork on a bun and top with Mustard BBQ Sauce. Enjoy!

The Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Alabama White Sauce

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

For the Slow Cooker Pork:

For the Alabama White Sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise

¼ cup cider vinegar

ablespoons finely diced red onion

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

Whisk salt, sugar and vinegar together until salt and sugar dissolves. Whisk in mayo and black pepper.

The Ultimate Slow Cooker Pulled Pork with Western North Carolina BBQ Sauce

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

For the Slow Cooker Pork:

For the Western North Carolina BBQ Sauce:

1 cup cider vinegar

¼ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons kosher salt flakes (less if using table salt)

2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

¼ cup ketchup

Whisk everything together in a small saucepan and set over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes. Excellent when topped with creamy coleslaw! Enjoy.
